TOURS

"La Viña" Dam

Visting the wall of La Viña Dam is a classic in Traslasierra. It is about 35 km from Mina Clavero and accessible via route 14, through Los Pozos, which is the reference to the access point. It is possible to drive or walk on its impressive wall, 107 meters high, from where you can see the huge lake, framed by the Sierras Grandes. It is possible to spend the day on the banks of this lake if you visit the fishing Club, located at the end stretch of the dam; The club has camping site and barbecue grills, and is the ideal site for pejerrey fishing and water sports.

Los Tunnels

The five tunnels of Taninga literally penetrate a monumental rock mass right in the spot where the Sierras fall abruptly to give way to the plains of La Rioja. Volcanoes, stunning views, condors flying over La Mermela Ravine, native trees, determined to grow between the stones and the edge of the abyss, are among the attractions you can find towards the end of this journey.

Craftsmen Road

Along the road, 12 local families exhibit and sell, in their studios at their homes, crafts typical of the area: red, yellow and black pottery. On the way up, you will have the view of the sierras, winding back and forth as you go on, and in you go back in the afternoon, you will be able to enjoy unique sunsets and views of the valley worthy of postcards.

Altas Cumbres Road

The route crosses the Sierras Grandes, and goes up to 2200 meters above sea level and is really impressive: rock walls, ravines, water falls, plateaus and every sky imaginable, right next to you, in your car. Besides what we can see, there are many activities to do in Altas Cumbres, the road itself is a rich itinerary that enters the heart of the region, where there is not only one but many ways of getting to know and enjoying.

ADVENTURE

In Mina Clavero it is possible to walk and let yourselves be led by trails that go up to the very heart of the mountains, or take a ride in the company of baqueanos and go to virtually inaccessible places. Those who do not resist the charm of the mountain may practise rappel in the natural climbing wall of San Lorenzo Creek, in a meeting face to face with the bare rock. Those who want to go higher may remove the feet of the ground and share the sky with birds, doing paragliding with experienced pilots.
